Hearts of the Revolution #2
by Diana Davis
Esther is a judge’s daughter. Theo is a lowly baker. Can the Revolution bring them together—or will it tear them apart? A short & sweet Revolutionary romance
The only thing Esther Morton loves more than dancing is baker Theobalt Clayton’s sweet breads. Esther knows their worlds seem far apart, but when she hears that Congress is planning a ball to celebrate Mrs. Washington’s visit, she can’t help but dream she’ll be dancing in City Tavern with Theo.
Theo would love nothing more than to dance with Esther—if he knew how to dance, that is. But how can the Congress continue to throw lavish parties after they enacted resolutions that restricted such frivolities for everyone else? Theo’s tradesmen friends agree: it’s time they make themselves heard to the Congress, even if that means taking City Tavern down brick by brick.
As the ball grows nearer, Esther and Theo will have to choose between their loyalties and their hearts. Will the Revolution bring them together—or will it tear them apart?
